Centre midfielder Kenny Macinnes (18) has already played for Caley Jags first team as a sub in their Challenge Cup tie against Raith Rovers this season.

And striker Ben Barron (17) has been a regular scorer for the Inverness club's under-18s side.

Forres manager Steven MacDonald said both players are highly rated by Jags boss Billy Dodds and his coaching staff.

"Both good players, really promising," he said. "Billy Dodds is really enthusiastic about these young boys.

"When you speak to him it’s really clear that he cares about them and he knows this is part of the club’s future. He has been really good to deal with.

"He speaks well of Kenny and gave him his debut against Raith Rovers off the bench.

"Ryan Esson (Caley under-18s coach) has been helping with Ben, who they think has a big future ahead of him.

"He has 15 goals in 20 under-18 games so he has done really well and Kirk Broadfoot (Caley's former Scotland international) has been raving about him and does a lot of work with him. He’s got a bit of physicality about him.

"We are trying to get some of the better ones in rather than someone just to make up numbers.

"That will help us and we will probably shuffle some of the rest of the squad."

Barron is available to join Mechanics squad for tonight's Highland league cup quarter-final against Clach.

Macinnes is on Scotland schoolboy international duty tomorrow so won't join the Forres squad until Saturday, when the cans host Inverurie Locos in the Highland League.

Past Forres loan signings from Caley Thistle include Graeme Shinnie, who went on to star for Aberdeen and Scotland.

The defender won a Highland League Cup winners medal with Mechanics during a six-month stint.

"It will be great if these two turn out to be even half as good as Graeme Shinnie," said MacDonald.
