FORRES Thistle grabbed another victory on Saturday to remain in the North Region Championship’s top three.

A goal from Charlie Beck eight minutes into the second half secured all three points as the Jags ran out 1-0 winners at Deveronside.

In a relatively quiet first half, Ryan Matheson of Deveronside fired a shot a yard wide from 16 yards.

Brandon Hutcheson got into the box for Thistle before half-time but his shot was saved by Side keeper Michael Stephen.

Dan Mcleod had to be sharp to deny Kyle Buxton’s header from a corner after 51 minutes, before the Jags took the lead.

After Neil Moir’s 20-yard shot was saved by Stephen, the ball rebounded to Charlie Beck whose shot from 22 yards found its way into the bottom corner.

Ross Archibald had a shot from five yards saved by Stephen as Forres looked to add to their advantage, but he was denied by Stephen.

The same man went close again with 10 to play but skewed a shot wide.
