Snow and frost has had its affect across the north and north-east, threatening to wipe out the football programme for Saturday.

Three Highland league matches has been called off by lunchtime on Friday.

Brora Rangers' match against Rothes was first to go as a result of a snowbound Dudgeon Park.

Formartine United's derby clash with Inverurie Locos has been postponed due to similar conditions in Pitmedden.

And with Mosset Park forming a wintry scene under a blanket of snow, Forres Mechanics' clash with Huntly was never going to beat the weather.

Keith's home game against Banks O' Dee is another casualty of the winter.

Five other matches are scheduled for Saturday but will need a major thaw before they can go ahead.

Saturday's other matches:

Buckie Thistle v Brechin City

Deveronvale v Nairn County

Fraserburgh v Strathspey Thistle

Turriff United v Clach

Wick Academy v Lossiemouth
