VIDEO and PICTURES: Moray boxer Fraser Wilkinson wins Scottish middleweight title at Elgin Town Hall after victory over Coatbridge’s Ben McGivern
Fraser Wilkinson is the new Scottish middleweight champion after stopping Coatbridge rival Ben McGivern in the ninth round of their Elgin Town Hall title bout.
Wilkinson (23) is now a Scottish champ at two different weights having claimed the super welterweight title belt in front of a home crowd in December 2022.

In a tough contest against the current Celtic middleweight champion, ‘Wilko’ wore his 36-year-old opponent down.
In the ninth, after taking a heavy punch from McGivern, the Moray man landed a combination of blows in the corner which led to his opponent tumbling down in the centre of the ring and being counted out by the referee.
“That combination, me and David (trainer McAllister) have drilled for weeks and weeks,” he said after picking up his title belt.
“The atmosphere was even better than the last time and that really made a difference.”
Wilko will head to Los Angeles and Las Vegas later this month for another training camp, and said he will tackle each opportunity like stepping stones in his quest for even bigger fights in the future.
