Ewan celebrated his 18th birthday with a strong showing and a hard-earned point against Formartine United at Mosset Park on Saturday.

He impressed at the heart of the defence in the 1-1 draw, having played a number of game at full-back this campaign.

On his season overall, Ewan said: "It’s my first loan and it’s been a great experience in men’s football.

“The boys have really welcomed me, helped me, encouraged me and pushed me on. I’ve been lucky to have been thrown straight into games and that’s really helped me. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

“I need to keep doing the right things on and off the pitch and keep believing in myself and we’ll see what happens next season.

“Malky (Mackay, Ross County manager) is really encouraging but also demanding, which is what we need as young lads. He’s really good during training with the young lads and treats us really well.

“We have to keep learning, especially for me personally, from him as a player. He’s a great person to have around on a daily basis.”

Ewan described Saturday's 1-1 draw with Formartine as a "tough battle" but a point gained for the Can-Cans.

Formartine went into the game off the back of eight successive Highland League victories, while Forres were winless in nine league encounters.

However, the form book was ripped up when Dale Wood fired Forres into a half-time lead. Julian Wade equalised after half-time as the spoils were shared.

“The point overall was good, although we were aiming for three,” he said.

“It was a tough battle but if we had got the three points it wouldn’t have been undeserved.

"We had tough spells, certainly after their equaliser, but we had some good spells ourselves and had chances to win the game."
