The club sent a number of their members to the Tayside Trophy Club International in Dundee, keen to continue a recent winning streak at major events.

A strong Moray representation also took part in the Aberdeen National Opens a few days later.

Elgin High School pupil Zack Crowley won gold in Tayside at the intermediate men's competition with a range of several clean double jumps securing him a personal best score of 35 points.

Chloe Sutherland from Buckie also took gold in the level 1 ladies event against 16 skaters from around the UK whist David Anderson from Mosstowie also struck gold in the basic novice men's competition.

The Aberdeen event provided a platform for 13-year-old Rachel Anderson to shine as the youngest of 30 skaters in the basic novice ladies' section from across the UK - as she claimed the gold medal.

Completing a golden family double, Rachel's brother David won his own category, scoring a personal best score of 33.44 after landing a range of big double jumps which gained high scores from the panel of judges.

Following on from her Dundee success, Sutherland added to her gold medal collection by coming out on top in a field of 17 skaters with team-mate Layla Hill also hitting the medals with bronze in the same event.

Lossiemouth's Abby Macleman won silver in the level three ladies event against 13 other skaters and only just behind gold position. Zack Crowley also followed up with another gold and landed an impressive double axel on the warm up.

Ruby Boyd will compete for the British Championships in Sheffield for the sixth time after an impressive performance at a recent qualifying competition.

She has won several national gold medals and has been selected by British Ice Skating to represent GB in major national events in Italy, Hungary and Latvia.

Another international and gold medallist Moray skater, Charlotte Wright, narrowly missed out on qualifying despite some strong performances this year.

The young skaters all live in Moray and train several days per week at Moray Leisure Centre and Inverness Ice Centre, coached by Sue Summers-Farrell and Graeme Summers.

Sue said: "We're delighted that our skaters are winning more and more national medals and going from strength to strength.

"They're a shining example of hard-working, dedicated youngsters who live for their sport and we're very proud of them".
