History was made on the baize of the Scottish County Snooker Team Championships when two teams from Moray took part for the first time.

What's more, both north squads enjoyed a good measure success in a competition which drew a record entry of 21 teams from across the country.

Moray A lined up with Adam Macleod, Stephen Hepburn, Ali McDonald, James McKenzie, Neil Owen, Gary Pope, Mark Bell and Simon Bremner in the main event of the tourney.

The A team managed to vanquish reigning champions Cumbernauld A on their way to topping their section.

The B boys faced a tough challenge in their group and did not manage to progress, instead being forced to play a blue ball shootout play-off with Dundee B followed by a full match play-off against Glenrothes B.

They managed to grab a 6-2 victory to give them their qualifying spot in the plate event.

On the Sunday, Moray A's reward for topping their section was an automatic place in the quarter-finals.

They were to face the winners of the last 16 play-off between Edinburgh and Q Club B, which was won by the capital side.

Edinburgh had the advantage of having played on the same tables earlier in the day and ran out 6-2 winners over their north opponents.

Moray B's quest for glory also ended in the quarter final stages of their plate event as opponents Paisley ran out 6-2 winners in the end.

The Q Club A defeated Edinburgh in the main final to lift the Scottish County Championship title.
