Riders showjumping at Mundole

MILD WEATHER and the longer evenings are allowing riders to start the competition season early, and in the Mundole Equestrian Winter Series on Sunday, good entries in all classes made for some excellent showjumping.

In the 0.70 class, Ben Macdonald, Contin, beat Amy Beck’s fast round by two seconds.

Ben was well up in the 0.80 jump-off, but a fall at the last fence forced him to retire.

French rider Rose Bungener was in good form taking top spot in the 1.00m class riding Lynn and Grenville Goode’s Sanissimo. The Gordonstoun pupil trains with Avril Johnston when studies permit.

Results: 0.45 – 1 Sarah Brown, Inverness (Rockefeller). 0.60 – 1 Hannah Cox, Avoch (Doby II); 2 Lucy McAngus (Craig); 3 Karina Mig, Elgin (Cortina). 0.70 – 1 Ben Macdonald, Contin (Dalemore Rainbow’s End); 2 Amy Beck, Roseisle (Sean); 3 Claire Rae, Tore (Fred).

0.80 – 1 Rochelle Hossack (Mr Toby); 2 Emily Kerr, Nairn (Ronaldo); 3 Amy Beck (Sean). 0.90 – 1 Rochelle Hossack (Mr Toby); 2 Katie Mellis, Elgin (Ibis Diamond Questor). 1.00 – 1 Rose Bungener, Duffus (Sanissimo); 2 Angela Whalley, Kintessack (Wez); 3 Lucy Mc Angus (Eddie). 1.10 – 1 Avril Johnston, Rafford (Ard Ri); 2 Angela Whalley (Wez); 3 Aileen Ferrari, Rafford (Harry). 1.20 – 1 Lucy McAngus (Eddie).
