MEMBERS of Forres St Lawrence Cricket Club ended their season with a seven a side tournament with first and second team players mixed in three teams.

The Ninjas led by Steve Ryder won both their games and collected the trophy.

The sevens was followed by a demonstration from the hardball under 13 squad showing their skills batting in pairs with everyone bowling. The barbeque organised by John and Sandra Ross ran throughout the afternoon and the event was rounded off with the presentation of trophies.

Club President Steve Hogley welcomed several new players to the club, all contributed to a successful season in which the Club won two trophies. He paid tribute to the 1st XI for their magnificent League win and to the 2nd XI for their victory in the 20/20 plate competition. His thanks went to the many people both on and off the field who contributed to this seasons success and to all those who assisted in laying the new wicket and the practice wicket during the season.

Second XI trophies were presented by Nicky Nash to Jon Benn, who won the Guthrie Batting Cup and the Presidents Cup for Player of the Year, to Steve Hogley winner of the Pat Hope Shield for best bowler and Chris Gosling, winner of the Barbara Boswell Shield for Young Player of the Year.

1st XI Captain Nigel Gerrard added his congratulations to his team and presented mementos to all the players who played in the League winning team. Nicky then presented the 1st XI trophies to Pal Dhami who won the Penang Shield for best batting average, Gus Farr won the Cooper Rosebowl for best bowling average, David Durance was winner of the Dicksons of Forres Shield for Player of the Year and The Jack Kemp Trophy for Young player of the Year went to Aaron Roberts. The Cluny Hill Shield for services to Forres St Lawrence Cricket Club was awarded to Gus Farr for his dedication to coaching for the last four years, his work on the committee and his willingness to assist with a variety of tasks associated with the running of the club.

The president signed off by thanking those who attended the event and encouraged the young players to keep attending coaching through the winter as they were the future of the Forres Cricket Club.
