Sunday’s Moray Road Runners’ 10k at Miltonduff wasn’t all about the winning athletes.
James Wilson was first to the finish for the home club, regaining the title he won in 2022 with his brother Kenny triumphing last year.
Many of the runners were content with personal best times or a fastest of the year so far, while others took pride in reaching the finish after a tough run over undulating terrain.
Wilson followed up his victory at the Nairn 10k earlier this month. His time in Moray of 31.54 was only 12 seconds outside his personal best over 10k.
Muir of Ord teenager Caitlyn Heggie continued her dominance of the 10k circuit in the north as she cruised to the women’s title at the Moray Road Runners 10k.
The Dingwall Academy sixth year pupil was first in 36.38 but despite winning the MRR 10k title, the Inverness Harriers teenager was not eligible for the North District Championship due to only being 17.
The north title went to home runner Gemma Cormack in 38:08.
Moray pair Matthew Brennan (34.58) and Gary Mckay (35.58) were also inside the top ten.
Forres Harriers’ Kasia Klonowska won the women’s masters and MRR’s Grace Jenkins was first female under-20 to the finish.
