An understrength Buckie Thistle kept the pressure on leaders Brechin City with a 1-0 win at Wick Academy on Saturday.

Missing several regulars, Jags were well on top and Ryan Fyffe's deflected first half header landed the three points for Graeme Stewart's side.

Buckie were hoping for a slip-up from Brechin, who also faced a tough away game at Rothes.

But an 80th minute Botti Biabi strike earned the east side a crucial 1-0 victory at MacKessack Park, keeping them a point ahead of Buckie with a game in hand.

Strathspey Thistle's tough season continued with an 8-1 defeat at Forres Mechanics.

Jags trailed 2-1 at the interval before collapsing under the weight of Forres pressure in the second half.

Ben Barron, Shaun Morrison and Lee Fraser all scored doubles for Cans with Dale Wood and a Joe Cuthbert own goal bringing up their tally.

A blunder by home keeper Stuart Knight in letting an Owen Loveland effort bounce past him into the net gifted Strathspey their first half goal.

Brora Rangers, who parted company with manager Craig Campbell during the week, were too strong for Keith at Dudgeon Park.

Three goals inside the opening 15 minutes by Andy Macrae, Max Ewan and Jordan MacRae had the Cattachs in full command.

Jordan MacRae added his own second and Brora's fourth before half time, with Colin Williamson and Dale Gillespie adding two more after the break as Keith finished off the scoring with a late Stewart Hutcheon consolation, netting a rebound after his penalty was saved.

Managerless Lossiemouth were on the wrong end of a five-goal result at Fomartine United.

Three goals in the closing ten minutes of the first half by Julian Wade, Graeme Rodger and Aidan Combe took the game beyond Lossie, with Wade and Aaron Norris also on target for United in the second period.

Deveronvale again pushed one of the leading sides close, leading champions Fraserburgh before going down to a 3-2 defeat.

Kyle Mackillop-Hall netted first for Vale, who were in front at half time before Scott Barbour and Josh Bolton (2) turned the game Broch's way.

Youngster Aleksander Dlugosz netted his first goal for the Banff men late on but Fraserburgh held on for victory.

Two early goals by centre backs Kyle Dalling and Michael Clark saw Huntly return from a five-week weather-hit break to beat Turriff United 2-0.

Clach were 4-2 winners at Inverurie Locos, spelling the end of Richard Hastings' managerial reign at Locos.

Conor Bunce netted a hat-trick for the Inverness men with a Thomas Reid own goal opening the scoring for the Lilywhites.

Rob Ward netted both Inverurie goals in the closing 20 minutes.

Nairn County's recent revival continued with a 3-0 win at home to Banks O' Dee.

A spectacular strike by 43-year-old veteran Ross Tokely was the pick of County's three first half strikes, Kenny McKenzie and Andrew Greig also on target.
