Cue stars contested a very close title race in the Moray Snooker Team Championship.
Reigning champions The New Club 1 (Elgin) took up the challenge of new Boys 147 Club (Inverness) and four-time league champions Forres Legion.
Going into the penultimate round of fixtures, the 147 Club needed to win both matches to claim the title at their first attempt.
The Highland capital team fell at the first hurdle as they were defeated 9-6 by Elgin Ex Service.
Forres Legion kept their hopes alive by dishing out a 15-0 whitewash to The New Club 2.
Both the New Club teams met in the final match with their first team knowing a big victory would see them crowned champions again, regardless of the outcome of the other match between 147 Club and Forres Legion.
While the Inverness cuesters did their bit with an 11-4 success over Forres, New Club 1 wasted no time in polishing off their club rivals by a 14-1 margin to successfully defend their title.
The top three players of the season were New Club 1's Adam MacLeod with 23 frames won out of 24, Elgin Ex-Service's Ali McDonald winning 19 of 24, and Alan Mair (New Club 1) with 18 of 24.
The final competition of the season is the Moray Handicap Trophy which is concluded this month.
A new Ian Mackenzie Joinery-sponsored league season begins in September while Moray take two teams to Glasgow for the Scottish County Championships for the first time this year.
