Buckie Thistle won 2-0 at Forres Mechanics on Saturday to book a date with Brora Rangers, who defeated Fraserburgh on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Bellslea Park.

The two clubs, who are also challenging for the Highland League title, will face off at Station Park on Saturday, April 9 for the cup in it's 75th year.

A Highland League spokesperson said: "This season’s final marks the 75th Anniversary of the competition which started in 1947 when the Morganti family from Nairn donated a trophy for the competition.

"The trophy was donated by Mrs Morganti in memory of her late husband, Albert. Albert Morganti, who had been President of Nairn County, was honoured by the Scottish FA for his services to North football, having been the North FA Representative to the Scottish FA from 1931 until the time of his death in 1941.

"This year’s final therefore marries the origins of the competition with a new sponsor, namely GPH Builders Merchants who have brought valued support and original thinking to the competition so the hope is for a memorable final.

"It’s over to you, Buckie Thistle and Brora Rangers!"
