Moray Bowling Club on the move up with victory over Fochabers in indoor league

Moray Bowling Club kept up their title challenge with a convincing performance on the road at Fochabers.

George Robb junior recovered from a four-shot deficit to win his match 12-9. Then his son Aaron continued his good form with an impressive 19-9 victory.

George Grant looked to seal maximum points for the Elgin club winning 17-10. Emma Petrie dominated the first half of her game to rescue two points for the home club with Moray taking four points.

Leaders Hopeman A made the short journey to champions Lossie BC. William Stewart and Jutta Hewett both won to give the home club an 18-shot advantage.

The second session was a closer affair. Mark Thompson and George Jack both won to ensure all six points for the champions.

Burghead went on the road to Bishopmill with an opportunity to go top of the first division.

Sandy Grant and Ron Garrow won 10-8 and 11-9 for the home club. Cameron Leggat responded for the visitors winning 15-7 and David Ross was in impressive form as the Broch took four points and top spot in the league.

Forres Royal British Legion hosted Alves with the away club winning both first session matches. Mike Anderson extended the visitors lead with a 14-9 win; Harry Milne showed all his experience winning nine of the 12 ends to secure two points for the Legion.

Second division leaders Lhanbryde visited Fogwatt with the home club taking a narrow one-shot advantage into the second session. Gordon Wiles made it an eight-shot match in favour of the home team, Mark Wright in his debut season was in scintillating form for the leaders to ensure overall victory and four points.

Birnie travelled to Lossie BC A looking to consolidate second place. The coastal club won three games, Sheena Lawson being the standout as the home team earned maximum points.

Peter Bloomfield won 12-7 to give hosts Lossiemouth a five-shot margin over Forres Victoria. Paul Rogan and Charlie Watt turned things round in the second session as Forres continue to impress in the second division.

Hopeman B looked to upset the odds away to Duffus with Ross Tripp winning 20-5, Davy Clarihew hit back for the home team with a 14-shot win, the village club closed out proceedings winning both second session matches to ensure another home victory.
