Forres Gymnastics Club pick up honours at friendly competition held at Balmoor Gymnastics in Peterhead

The first competition of the year brought some success for Forres Gymnastics Club.

The Moray outfit was joined by the host club, Inverurie and the Alvah club in Banff at the event.

Lucy Stephenson starred in the 14+ intermediate section, taking a clean sweep f gold medals in floor, vault and overall.

There was a gold for Louisa Walters in the 12/13 intermediate vault, as well as a bronze on the floor and silver overall.

She also joined forced with Mya Morrison and Matilda Gee for a team silver, with Mya and Matilda picking up the ribbon for fourth place overall.

In the 10/11 intermediate, Charlotte Morrison won gold in the vault and overall with club mate Rhea Henderson taking gold on the floor and silver on the vault and overall.

Elspeth Cane-Hardy won the ribbon for fifth overall in 10/11 beginner.

More medals came for Forres in the 8/9 beginner section as Perrie McKail won bronze on the vault and silver on the floor and overall.

She also won team silver alongside Lexi Lunan, Maggie Walters, , Lucy Hays and Farrah-Rose Brodie.

Forres won team silver in the 6/7 beginner section and Beth Watson won bronze on the vault and fifth overall, with team-mate Neveah Kingham sixth.

Head coach Patsy Fraser Mackenzie said the girls are preparing for this month's competition in Alness and the North District Championships in Aberdeen.
