IT WAS an evening with the stars for Forres cyclist Laura Gunn when she was presented with a silver medal by cycling legend Graham Obree at the Cycling Time Trials Champions Night, held at Hinkley, near Coventry.

The presentation was the cream on the cake for Laura, and winning the silver medal in the junior girls’ British best all-rounder championship, crowned a long and successful season.

The championship is a season long competition across a variety of time trial distances.

This result was another success for the Forres Cycling club who had a superb 2011 season, and was made even better by the fact that Laura’s team-mate Emma Finlayson finished in fourth place.

A spokesman for the club said it was a fantastic achievement for the club to have two junior riders placed so highly in a national competition.

Graham Obree is a former multiple world champion and world record holder.
