Silver Division – Janet Buist (12), Dorothy Marshall (18) 39pts; Helen Jefferson (18), Janice Wink (18), Isobel Taylor (12) 37pts. Bronze Division – Heather Wilson (24), Julia McKay (22) 38pts; Abbie Cruden (24) 37pts; Barbara Boswell (29), Morag James (22) 36pts.

The Ladies’ Senior Open was held on Monday, May 6 with 78 competitors competing from thirteen different clubs.

The weather was very good and although the last few pairs did have some showers the scoring for the day was excellent. CSS for visitors and home players was in line with the SSS at 71. The A & M Wood Scratch Trophy was won by Anne Ryan from Tain with a gross score of 76 and the C.M. Ross Salver Handicap Trophy was won by Barbara Boswell with a net 67 on count back from Janet Buist.

Forres ladies did well with only three prizes going to ladies from other clubs. Although true, the greens were fairly slow which was an advantage to the home players.

Results: Scratch – Anne Ryan (Tain) 76. Silver Division – Janet Buist (12) 67; Liz Ballantine (Elgin) (18) 68; Doreen McCaig (20), Dorothy Marshall (19) 70. Bronze Division – Barbara Boswell (31) 67; Ellen Garrow (28) 68; Christine Thomson (22) 70; Heather Wilson (24), Morag James (22) 71. Isobel McIntosh from Inverness won the best net score outwith the main prizes in the over 65 age category. Eleanor McLeod had nearest the pin at the 5th hole which was sponsored by Brodie Countryfare and Rhona Cameron won nearest the pin at the 17th hole which was sponsored by M & C. Grateful thanks to both these sponsors and also to all the ladies who donated prizes for our raffle.

Mike Wood and Andy Ferguson were starters and Alex Marshall and Stan Thompson were ball spotting at the 5th hole.
