Three Forres Harriers took part in the Loch Ness Duathlon on Saturday.
Regarded as one of the toughest multievents of the season the duathlon consisted of a five mile hill run above Fort Augustus followed by a 40 mile cycle to Inverness.
The route follows the road on the south side of the canal, with a very tough first five miles which were all uphill before undulating to Dores. On exiting Dores the cyclists were directed right uphill for a mile or so before turning left for a downhill ride into Inverness.
Douglas Cowie after finishing third on the run cycled strongly to finish 2nd overall in a time of 2.38.51. Moira Davie, top Harrier lady finished 28th in 3.09.28. A special mention must go to novice Colin McRitchie who finished a creditable 36th in 3.18.27.
