Gordon makes fast work of half-marathon race

A LARGE field of 203 runners lined up for the 2013 Kinloss to Lossiemouth half-marathon at the weekend.

Conditions were fantastic, with a slight tail wind at the start of the race, but with higher than expected temperatures, the water stations were put to full use.

The winner of the race was Gordon Lennox (Forres Harriers) in a fabulous time of 72:23, followed by Graham Bee (unattached) in 72:53 and Paul Murdoch (Keith and District) in 77:30.

In the ladies’ race, there were also some fantastic times achieved, with winner Charlotte Black (Shetland AAC) finishing in a time of 83:59, followed by Debbie Moore (unattached) in 84.36 and Roma Shepherd (Inverness Harriers) in 88:19.

Some other individual prize winners among the Harriers were rewarded for their efforts. Dave McCulloch, in 83:28, was second male veteran and Lyndsay Grant, in 84:48, was second male supervet. Jackie Nicol, with a time of 102:08, was second female supervet.

Forres Harriers also scooped the male team prize, with Inverness Harriers claiming the female title.

Other Harrier results are as follows: Angela Reid, 102:11; Andy Wonacott, 102:20; Elizabeth Watson, 106.29; Keedy Noble, 108:15; Clare Nicholas, 109:39; Nadine Williams, 111:35; Fran Russell, 114:58; Anne Docherty, 118:37 and Carol Murphy, 120:0.
