ONE of Huntly Golf Club's senior members achieved every golfers dream earlier this month.

Charlie Cowe (80) holed his tee shot at the par 3 sixth hole - but was unaware of his achievement.

It was his playing partner, Graham Nicol who alerted Charlie when his shot went into the hole.

The pair were playing in a knock-out competition for the Jimmy Hogg shield.

Charlie said: "I didn't see it go in but Graham did and there were a couple of women on the go too who saw it.

"I'm really pleased, especially since I am now 80. I really can't recall if I have had a hole in one before or not."

Charlie took up golf in 1993 after going along to the course to encourage his son, Keith who ultimately got his dad into the game.
