Fort William's marathon task for Harriers

THE LOCHABER Marathon took place on Sunday in near perfect conditions in Fort William.
Eight Forres Harriers – Fran Russell, Jessica Neal, Kenny Douglas, Ross Macleod, Lindsay Grant, Colin Knox, Richard Johnson and Andy Wonnacott – competed in a field of more than 500.
Cool conditions with a slight head wind in the first half of the route saw Richard Johnson leading the Harriers pack with Lindsay Grant and Kenny Douglas following, but Johnson paid the price for his early pace in this his first marathon and was passed at around fourteen miles by Grant and Douglas.
