The latest round of Morayshire Indoor Bowling Association matches in the Alexander Wallace (Toyota) divisions produced some entertaining contests.

All four of Forres Victoria's triples showed good form at home to Birnie in a division two match.

Brian Caldwell won 16-9 and Harry Sutherland ensured a first session advantage winning a close encounter 12-10. Paul Coutts and Robert MacRitchie both won 14-7 to give the hosts a maximum six points and second position in the league.

Duffus entertained leaders Forres Royal British Legion, where Audrey Gill gave the hosts a perfect start winning 16-5. When the second match was tied 13 apiece Forres were in a spot of bother.

Like all top clubs the Legion dug deep in the second session with Neil Mathers and Mike Brown both coming strong in the middle ends of their games and holding out at the end to win overall by two shots.

This also ensure a Forres one-two at the top of the second division.

Lossiemouth Bowling Club's and Hopeman's A teams went head-to-head at Lossie with George Hutcheon and Alan Smith giving Lossie a healthy advantage after the first session.

The second session was a lot more even with Alex Stewart and Alistair Robertson finishing level and Jack Burke gaining a consolation two points for Hopeman A thanks to a 15-11 victory.

In division one, Burghead played hosts to Alves, Brian Davidson winning the first five ends to lead 11-0, eventually winning 17-8. John Ross won 12-10 on the other carpet as the Broch took the first session points.

Abbey Main put the hosts well in control to win the match overall winning 14- 8, Colin Taylor with a count of four on the final end secureing a one-shot, second session win and two points for the away club.

Hopeman were at home to Moray with James Morrison winning 13-9 to give the coastal club a narrow advantage at the end of the first session.

The second session proved to be surprisingly one-sided, Zander Main and Jim Pirie giving the hosts a much needed six points.

Early pace makers Lhanbryde had home advantage against Fochabers with the visitors through skip Keith Lambert winning against a strong Lhanbryde triple as the champions took a surprise one-shot advantage into the second session.

It looked ominous for the leaders when Fochabers won the third match, but Lhanbryde skip Robert Wildgoose played superbly in his match winning eight ends and a 19-6 success for an overall victory and four points as they keep the pressure on.

Lossie Bowling Club put in a sublime performance at home to Fogwatt winning the first session 35-11 and Mark Thompson continued the good work in the second session as Lossie moved one point clear at the top of the first division.
