FORRES Thistle remained third in the North Region Junior Championship after a 0-0 draw with Buchanhaven Hearts on Saturday.

Brandon Hutcheson had a 20-yard shot fly six yards past the post in the first 10 minutes, before poor Thistle defending allowed Adam Cross to shot over the bar from 15 yards.

Callum Watson had the next chance for Forres when he fired just wide from 20 yards after a quarter of an hour.

A chance for Forres’ Neil Moir was saved by Jake Ritchie in the Hearts goal after 20 minutes, as the game reached half-time goalless.

John Ross netted from a Hutcheson cross five minutes after break, but the flag was up for offside.

The final chance went the way of the visitors – who edged the game – when Cross’ effort from 18 yards was tipped past the post by Forres keeper Daniel Mcleod.
