Balmoor gymnastics competition lured a group from Forres Gymnastics Club to Buchan for an event also contested by Inverurie and the host club.

The 6/7 beginners' event saw the Forres team of Evie MacDonald, Nevaeh Kingham and Beth Watson claim the silver medal.

There were four silver medals for Rhea Henderson in the 8/9 beginners as she finished second in floor, vault and overall, then linked up with Lexi Lunan, Maggie Walters and Lily Townsley for team silver.

Mya Morrison achieved three gold medals for the club in 10/11 beginners' section.

She won floor and overall, took silver in vault and gold in team alongside Charlotte Morrison (who also won vault bronze), Isla Weston, Louisa Walters and Olivia Henderson.

Lucy Stephenson won a floor bronze in 12/13 intermediate and Iris Whitton was third in the 14+ advanced floor competition.

Fyrish Gymnastic Club's two-piece competition the following week brought more Forres hopeful's up north to Alness.

Neveah Kingham won vault bronze (6/7 years) and Rhea Henderson added to her rising number of medals with three silvers in 8/9 beginners.

Mya Morrison was 10/11 beginner overall champion for the second week running, winning gold in the vault and silver on the floor while Charlotte Morrison won vault bronze.

Both girls, along with Matilda Gee, Louisa Walters and Isla Henderson, won the team gold.

Lucy Stephenson took vault bronze in 12+ intermediate and Iris Whitton produced a stunning performance in the 14+ advanced section to become overall champion after claiming gold on vault and floor.

Club head coach Patsy Fraser-Mackenzie said: "The gymnasts are working hard and the coaching team are very pleased with their progress.

"We will be competing at Kirkcaldy, then Inverness next and after that we will all need a rest."
