A FORRES boxer is set for his toughest test yet when he steps into the ring at the Ironworks in Inverness this weekend.

Young professional Fraser Wilkinson, who is 2-0 so far, will take on Jordan Latimer (2-2) over six rounds on Saturday night.

Wilkinson, originally from Hopeman, is set to have around 150 people travelling through on the bus from Elgin to support him at the Highland Fight Night, promoted by Kynoch Boxing.

Ahead of the fight, Wilkinson said: "It's been a hard 12 weeks preparation, the break has been a lot longer than usual.

"Jordan is a durable opponent and he doesn't have a losing record so he's got a bit more to fight for. He loves a scrap which will play into my hands.

"I've sold 150 tickets and it's a 260 capacity, so it's going to be electric.

"After two fights in Glasgow, I'm looking forward to one in Inverness. It's the first fight in the Highlands for a long time, perhaps even five years/"

Latimer is coming down a weight for the fight and will take Wilkinson on at super welter weight.

It's Wilkinson's first six-round fight – but he is hoping to kick on soon and win a title.

"Training has been great for me," he said. "This will be my first six rounder, but promoted Sam (Kynoch) knows I'm more than capable of winning titles at the stage.

"The aim is to win a Scottish or Celtic title within 12 months."

Wilkinson is still hoping to hold a fight night in Elgin at some point within the next year or so.
