FORRES-BASED boxer Fraser Wilkinson is all set for his first professional fight.

Wilkinson, originally from Hopeman, will feature on the undercard of a Boxing Dinner Club event at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza Hotel on September 17.

The 20-year-old turned professional in April but this will be his pro debut.

He said: "My promotion company put on four dinner club to kick start their promotion again after lockdown and I was lucky to get on the first one.

"It's something I've wanted to do since I was a kid. I never dreamt of going to the Olympics and winning gold, it was always about being a professional boxer."

Wilkinson's fight will be followed by some big names on the Scottish boxing scene.

He added: "This is the biggest arena and the biggest event I will have boxed in.

"If I can stand out in front of the other boxers on show then it will propel me even more.

"It's meant to be full capacity again in September so I've got a big army coming down from Elgin.

"It'll be great to let them see the work I've been doing. I'm glad there is going to be a crowd, my debut wouldn't be the same without one."

Wilkinson's opponent will be known closer to the time.
