Forres Wednesday Seniors say good luck to Hunter Brown who is hanging up his golf club

Hunter Brown moved to Forres with his wife Rea from Kinghorn, Fife, in 1990 and joined the golf club in 1993. He has been a member of the Wednesday Seniors for 20 years and ran the section successfully from 2002 for seven years before handing over to Ross McKerron

He played his last round with Murray Hislop, Neil MacLeod and Geoff Matthewman who joined him on the 18th green for a tipple to toast his departure. He was finally joined by more members who came down to wish him well and drink to his health!

The Wednesday Seniors also enjoyed a team Best-Ball competition. Despite the blustery conditions, several teams produced some excellent scores; but nobody could match Ian Hampton’s team who won by 2 shots with a score of 53.

RESULTS

1: Ian Hampton(10), Ted Lamsdell(13) and Ian Dustan(24) – 53.

2: Vince Dobby(14), Stewart McDonald(14), Willie Watson(19) and Andy Allan(21) – 55(BL6).

3: Alec Marshall(9), Robin Walker(16) and Colin Shepherd(20) – 55.
