Fraser Cup holder Bryan Fotheringham's bid to retain his title came through a successful two days to reach the quarter-finals stage today.

Fotheringham defeated 2020 champ Jake Carpenter 5&4 in the round of 32 before edging out Simon Bremner by one hole to reach the last eight.

Today he was scheduled to face Colin Mackay, who beat former Forres Mechanics footballer Nathan Sharp 4&3, then had a 1up success over Maurice Lindsay.
