Buckie Thistle closed the gap on Highland League leaders Brechin City with a crucial 3-2 victory at Glebe Park on Saturday.
Brechin beat Buckie twice last season including a late double in the last day title decider at Victoria Park.
But Max Barry's 89th minute winner took Jags nine points behind City with four games in hand to play and the teams still have to meet in Buckie this season.
Danny Handling's 13th minute opener for Brechin was cancelled out within 60 seconds by a Barry equaliser.
Josh Peters struck for Buckie on 55 minutes against his former Elgin City manager Gavin Price to put the visitors ahead.
Ross County loan striker Matty Wright levelled for City with ten minutes to go but Barry's second at the death gave Jags a priceless victory.
Huntly were hampered by an early red card for Ross Still as they crashed 6-0 at Fraserburgh.
Sean Butcher's 100th goal for Broch gave them an early lead, before a high tackle by Still on 13 minutes earned the midfielder a straight red card.
It stayed 1-0 until early in the second half with Huntly keeper Fraser Hobday saving a Ryan Sargent penalty.
But Sargent soon made it 2-0 and doubles by Kieran Simpson and Scott Barbour took the home side to a convincing win.
Turriff United drew their first game of the season as Murray Cormack's 88th minute strike pegged back a visiting Brora Rangers side.
Reece McKeown struck first for Turriff with Kyle MacLeod levelling for Brora on the hour and Dale Gillespie's penalty putting the Cattachs ahead until Cormack's late intervention.
