Victoria Park failed a Saturday morning inspection so Buckie's game was off, while Brechin City earned a vital three points away to on-form Nairn County.

County had won 15 of their last 18 games in all competitions and were unbeaten in 11, including a run of nine straight wins, as they welcomed the champions to Station Park.

Leaders Brechin had to dig deep for a 1-0 win earned by stopper Euan Spark's strike three minutes after the break.

Fraserburgh went second but had to stave off a comeback from hosts Deveronvale to register a 4-2 win in Banff.

Despite a good start, Vale went 2-0 down to a Jamie Beagrie goal and a Ryan Cowie 30-yard screamer inside 22 minutes.

Seventeen-year-old Jack Mitchell continued his impressive debut season by latching on to a short Bryan Hay passback and net his third goal of the season for the home side before half time.

Then a fine finish by another Vale teenager, Ryan Park (18) drew Vale level on the hour.

The home underdogs went in pursuit of a third but Broch sub Sean Butcher had only been on the park for five minutes when he fired his team back in front.

Butcher added his own second with five minutes left to seal Fraserburgh's third win over Deveronvale this season.

Rothes were held to a goalless draw following their long trip north to face Wick Academy.

Inverurie Locos made it four wins in their last six games to continue their climb away from the league's basement with a 2-1 success at Huntly.

Michael Dangana gave Huntly an early lead which they held until the stroke of half time when Lloyd Robertson levelled for Locos.

The winning goal came for the visitors from the penalty spot with 13 minutes to go, Paul Coutts slotting home.

Turriff United made an impressive comeback from a goal down at half time to thump hosts Clachnacuddin 5-1.

Troy Cooper's ninth minute effort was the only goal of the first 45 minutes, giving the advantage to the Inverness side who crushed Wick 8-0 in their last outing a week earlier.

Ewan Clark's 12th of the season quickly drew Turriff level in the second half and spurred the away side on, with further goals by Reece McKeown, Murray Cormack, Callan Gray and John Allan landing a victory which took Turriff up to eighth.

Brora Rangers still have 22 league games to play in three-and-a-half months months following the postponement of their home game v Lossiemouth.

The clash between Forres and Keith was also called off due to a waterlogged pitch. They will try again on Wednesday night to get the game played.
