A group of Forres schoolgirls have been celebrating a double success in cross country.

The P6/7 team from Anderson’s Primary School won both the Moray Schools and the North of Scotland cross country at recent events.

More than 400 competitors took part at the Moray schools event, which was held at Grant Park. Anderson’s girls beat West End Primary in Elgin and Milne’s Primary to win their age group.

Anderson’s head teacher Maureen Mooney said: “As always I am extremely proud of the children, not only their achievements but in their participation, dedication, resilience and team spirit – they certainly did Anderson’s proud yet again.

“Anderson’s is at present a silver sportscotland school and our next aim is to achieve gold.”
