Around 40 of Scotland’s best orienteers were hosted by the Moravian team, training amongst the forested sand dunes of Lossiemouth and Roseisle Forests.

The weekend presented an opportunity for some of Moravian’s emerging junior talent to experience the way the country’s leading performers train and live together while “on tour”.

Ten youngsters from across Moray joined the squad at various sessions and went away inspired by the coaches and the team members who made everyone welcome.

Better known as ScotJOS, the high-performance teenagers include Forres Academy’s Andrew and Kathryn Barr, both of whom will be joining the team in South Wales this weekend for the JK International - the UK’s biggest orienteering event with well over 3,000 entries already.

The Scottish juniors have dominated the UK orienteering scene in the last 12 months and the group will travel with the weight of expectation on their shoulders.

Moravian are back at Roseisle this Easter Sunday for the Forestry Commission’s Easter Eggstravaganza open day.

Amongst the many activities on offer will be an orienteering taster session where the public can try out the sport at any of five different levels.

Many of the club’s members will be there to enjoy the day and show any newcomers what to do.

The Easter Eggstravaganza starts at 1pm at the forestry picnic area.
