IS the next Andy Murray or Emma Raducanu out there in Moray?

Whether a novice or looking to get back into the sport, tennis is for everyone.
Whether a novice or looking to get back into the sport, tennis is for everyone.

They are among GB's top stars, but at grassroots level it is all about having fun and taking part.

That's why a Moray tennis club is inviting people to try out the sport to boost its membership.

Findhorn Tennis Club is holding its annual fun day on Saturday (June 3) from 2-5pm

While Murray and Raducanu are elite performers, the aim locally is to get people active and participating in the sport.

A club spokeswoman said: "We will provide food, drink, rackets, balls and good company for you to try your hand at this wonderful sport."

Situated between the bowling green and the football area, the tennis club provides two courts and a smaller one for kids.

"As the average age of our active players is more on the senior side and our numbers are dwindling, we would like to entice more players to join," she added.

Members' fees have been kept low and at the moment the club meets regularly on Sunday mornings, but a club night could be reinstated too. For anyone who just wants to play occasionally or are on holiday in the area, the club asks for a donation in the honesty box.
