LITTER hero Leon Duthie celebrated the coronation of King Charles III by cleaning up his neighbourhood.

The Big Help Out on Monday was part of the weekend of coronation celebrations and Leon (14), aided by his mum Avril, completed a three hour litter pick around Glencairn Cottages, Ivy Lane, and Forres Academy where he is a pupil.

"We filled three bags of rubbish," said Avril. "I am very proud of him and he really enjoyed it.

"We don't like to see litter lying about, there is no excuse for it."

Leon got a special King Charles III tabard for his litter pick, which he and his mum plan to make a regular effort.

He also volunteers on a Friday at the Pantry which helps reduce food waste in Moray.

"He enjoys his volunteering and I have noticed a big difference in his confidence," added Avril.
