Moray's food bank has made alternative arrangements to provide help to anyone in need over the festive period.

The Moray Food Plus store on Elgin's High street will close from tomorrow until Tuesday, January 5.

The food bank is asking any members of the public who feel that they will require support over this time to contact their support or social worker to organise assistance.

Anyone who does not have a worker and finds themselves in need can contact Moray Council Out of Hours on 03457 565656 and ask for a food parcel.

They can also also go to either Elgin, Buckie or Forres police stations where arrangements will be made.

The three police stations have had drop off boxes for donations to Moray Food Plus since November 6.

A police spokesperson said: "We want to thank the communities across Moray for their continued support as their generosity has helped a large number of people.

"You can continue to donate items at the stations."
