The Met Office has issued a weather warning stating there will for ice and snow across the whole of the north of Scotland until Wednesday.

In the meantime, temperatures for the bulk of Moray are predicted to remain hovering at around freezing, although wind chill may make it feel several degrees colder.

The mercury this coming night in Tomintoul could drop as far as -4C, with it feeling as low as -9C.

Slighter warmer weather is predicted across the board for this upcoming weekend, although the skies are likely to be overcast.

The Met's weather warning states: "Snow showers and icy stretches may bring some disruption.

"Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services."

It also warns of an increased likelihood of slips and falls due to ice.
