WATCH: Drone footage captures Forres motorcycle fire as police confirm incident not being treated as wilful

POLICE have confirmed that there were no injuries after a motorcycle caught fire off the A96 in Forres at the weekend.

Drone footage, captured by Forres resident Mark Maloy, showed the vehicle engulfed in flames as cars carefully navigated their way past just before a roundabout in the Moray town.

The fire, which is not being treated as wilful, was extinguished by a Scottish Fire and Rescue crew.

However, it is not clear what caused the vehicle to catch fire.

A police spokesperson said: "At around 10.55am on Sunday, May 12 2024, police and fire service attended a report of a motorcycle on fire on the A96 at the Findhorn Road roundabout in Forres.

"Scottish Fire and Rescue Service officers extinguished the fire.

“There was no one injured and the fire is not being treated as wilful."
