War medals stolen from Forres home

War medals are amongst the items that have been stolen from a property in Forres.

The theft occurred on Burdshaugh at 1.30am last Friday morning.

Police say other items of sentimental value were taken, including a distinctive scarf.

In addition, the thief also took alcohol.

A police spokesperson said "A male carrying two bags was seen in the vicinity around about the time of the crime.

"Anybody who has information in relating to this crime or has been offered the sale of these rare items, or can provide information on their whereabouts, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
