Professor Brian Cox has postponed his upcoming science tour which was due to come to the region this October.

.

The show, originally entitled Horizons: A 2021 Space Odyssey, will instead be staged at the P&J Live on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Any ticketholders unable to attend the newly scheduled date will be entitled to a full refund.

The television presenter said: "We understand this will be disappointing, but we look forward to seeing everyone in 2022,

"We’ve renamed the tour, Horizons: A 21st Century Odyssey. Hopefully that will cover it."

Professor Cox added that the "difficult" decision had been taken as a positive test among the tour team could "scupper the rest of the tour".

The show will use state of the art LED screen technology to take the audience to far-away galaxies, alien worlds, supermassive black holes and a time before the Big Bang.

It will also examine questions such as: What is the nature of space and time? Why does the Universe exist? How did life begin? And are there other forms of life out there?
