Violent incidents included in February's police report for Forres Community Council of crimes in local area

ATTACKING a peaceful protest, allegedly threatening a grandmother and setting fire to a car outside a house were three police incidents reported to Forres Community Council’s most recent meeting.
Police Scotland presented the Moray West report to the community council, covering the community policing team’s work during February.
Police say a man was charged following an incident at Tesco after a Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign flag and protesters were allegedly sprayed with red food dye.
A male was arrested and charged with vandalism as well as threatening and abusive behaviour after he allegedly smashed property belonging to his grandmother while acting aggressively towards her. A report will be submitted.
Enquiries are ongoing for a wilful fire raising after a man’s vehicle was set alight outside his property.
Following a road traffic collision, a man is being reported for riding a motorbike without a license or insurance.
A man was also arrested and charged for driving a car in Forres while being almost five times over the drink drive limit.
Local Inspector Andrew Meikleham signed off the report for the final time since he took over the role almost two years ago.
He said: “I am moving community policing team to Elgin as of Monday, March 4. Inspector Neil Morrison, currently based at Elgin, will take up my post as of this date. I would just like to thank you all for your support over the last two years and I wish you all the best for the future.”
