Two to appear in court after train disturbance

TWO men aged 23 and 55 are set to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today (Monday, August 19) in connection with an incident on a train near Forres.

The 6:14pm train from Inverness to Aberdeen on Saturday, August 17, was approaching Forres when the incident occurred.

A Police Scotland statement said: "Emergency services were alerted at around 6.35pm to an altercation that had taken place involving numerous people, and attended Forres Railway Station.

"The men were subsequently arrested and charged in connection and enquiries are ongoing in conjunction with British Transport Police in relation to others involved.

"Thank you to those who have assisted with our enquiries already."
