Two teenagers charged with attempted murder after Elgin assault

POLICE have confirmed that two teenage boys have been charged in connection with an attempted murder in Elgin.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital on April 30 with serious injuries after he was assaulted near the fountain on the town's High Street. The incident happened at around 10.45pm.

The man was 'critically ill' in hospital however his condition is now understood to be stable.

The two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

They are expected to appear before Elgin Sheriff Court at a later date.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wilson said: "We are very grateful for the support and co-operation of the local community while we carried out our investigation into this incident.”
