Two teenagers dead after crash involving e-bike and four cars on A941 between Elgin and Lossiemouth

TWO teenagers have been killed and a third taken to hospital after a crash involving an e-bike and four cars on the A941 between Lossiemouth and Elgin.
A 17-year-old and a 16-year-old boy, who were passengers on an e-bike being ridden by a 14-year-old boy, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The rider was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin with serious injuries, along with a 54-year-old man who was driving a Vauxhall Mokka.
The 14-year-old’s condition is described as stable, while the 54-year-old man is described as critical but stable. No one else was injured.
The incident happened on the A941 between Lossiemouth and Elgin at the junction with the B9135 at around 8pm on Monday, March 25.
A Sur-ron e-bike, a blue Vauxhall Mokka, a red Renault Clio, a black Vauxhall Corsa and a white Volkswagen Golf were all involved in the crash.
The road was closed for investigation work for more than 12 hours. Police are now appealing for further information.
Sergeant Iain Nicolson said: “Our thoughts are very much with the families and friends of the two teenagers who died and they need privacy at what is a very upsetting and difficult time for all.
“Our investigation into the crash is ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers and who has any information to help with our enquiries.
“If you have dash-cam or anything else that could assist officers then please get in touch.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed two ambulances were called to the scene.
“We received a call at 20:12 on Monday 25 March to attend a RTC on the A941,” they said.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and one patient was transported to Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin.”
Area Commander Andrew Wright is the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Local Senior Officer for Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray area.
He said: "We were alerted at 8.05pm on Monday, March 25, to reports of a collision involving a car and an electric bike on the A941 Lossiemouth to Elgin road.
“In response, Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the incident.
“Sadly, two young males tragically passed away. At this difficult time our thoughts are with their families, friends and wider community.”
