A POPULAR sports club is making good use of financial support from a local charity.

Forres House Bowling Group (FHBC) was awarded £700 by the Auchernack Trust in its last round of funding, to invest in free sessions for members at Forres House Community Centre.

FHBC organiser Sam Morrison is grateful for the continued support.

He/She said: “We were delighted to receive the award of £700. The Auchernack Trust has supported us for a number of years now.

“The funding pays for two hours hire for half of the large hall every Thursday morning from 10am-noon. This allows us to provide free sessions to our patrons throughout the year.”

FHBC currently has around 20 regular players with a capacity for 40.

“Everyone is welcome and we can supply bowls - just bring your carpet slippers to wear! Tuition can be provided if required.

“Our sessions also run throughout the summer months providing gentle exercise, fun and companionship in a safe environment throughout the year. Almost all of our players enjoy them so much they join Forres Victoria Indoor Bowling Club.”
