The Aberdeenshire-based author, who regularly tops the most borrowed charts in Moray, will be at the library on Wednesday, May 4, to talk about his new novel No Less the Devil.

Places for this hotly anticipated event, which is being held in collaboration with the Elgin branch of Waterstones, are free but must be booked in advance.

David Hayden, principal librarian, said: "Our libraries have been operating more or less as normal for a year now and bringing our in-person events back is the icing on the cake for us.

"The cherry will be seeing Moray’s crime writing fans packing out Elgin Library, in this, Scotland’s Year of Stories."

.

Renowned for his ‘no holds barred’ delivery, Stuart MacBride is an ambassador of the Granite Noir crime writing festival.

All his books will be on sale during the evening, which begins at 7pm, and he’ll gladly sign any copies purchased.

Stuart's most recent work, No Less the Devil focuses on a recently freed killer calling on DS Lucy McVeigh for protection from forces even more brutal than himself.
