OFF the back of the event's overwhelming success at the weekend, tickets have been put on sale early for next year's MacMoray Festival.

MacMoray will take place on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, in 2024. The number of tickets on sale will remain at 10,000 per day.

The first two acts are set to be unveiled on Friday, May 12, with further line-up announcements to follow fortnightly.

At least 15 bands will perform at the festival, which will again take place at Elgin's Cooper Park, where it will also be held in 2025.

MacMoray is rewarding loyal customers by allowing them to get their tickets, before any acts are announced, for just £2 more than this year's tickets cost.

Organiser Andy Macdonald said: "We are releasing cheap tickets as early as possible for MacMoray's hardcore fans to buy before any band announcements.

"We have had an unbelievable amount of people come down to Cooper Park, where we have been cleaning up, to thank us and say the festival was great.

"The biggest feedback we have had from them is that people can't wait for next year and want to know dates as soon as possible so they book accommodation and make plans.

"We have taken that on board and this allows people to get ahead of the curve for 2024, which is going to be even better."

For those who would rather wait to see the line-up before buying tickets, the price will be slightly higher – due to the festival's rising costs.

"Tickets will remain absolutely as cheap as they possibly can be, but prices will have to go up after announcements are made," Andy added.

"We cannot remain at first year prices again as our costs are really high. This year, we were asked for 35 per cent more security and police to cover the event – late on – so bills went up.

"We don't want to increase ticket prices and are doing all we can to keep them as low as we can, so we thought we would do cheap tickets now until the first band is announced to thank our loyal customers."
