Third coronavirus case confirmed in Grampian as Scottish figure hits 11

A THIRD coronavirus case has been detected in Grampian after the number of positive tests in Scotland almost doubled in a day.

The Scottish Government has confirmed that there have been another five cases identified in Scotland in the past 24 hours – taking the number of cases in the country to 11.

As well as three in Grampian, there are two in the Forth Valley health board area, two in Fife, and one apiece in Lothian, Tayside, Ayrshire & Arran, and Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

There have not yet been any cases detected in the NHS Highland area.

So far there have been 1525 Scottish tests carried out, of which 1514 were negative.

Across the UK there are now 163 confirmed cases – up 47 since the same time yesterday.

Some 20,338 people have been tested for the virus, which is officially called Covid-19. There have been 20,175 negative tests.
