Take a Break grants can help provide a respite from the daily routine of caring.

The fund aims to give parent carers, including eligible kinship carers, of disabled children and young people aged 0 to 20, with complex additional needs grants to help fund short breaks away from the day-to-day routine of caring.

Take a Break is funded by Scottish Government and administered by Family Fund.

Priority will given to those who have not received a Take a Break grant before, and those who missed out last year.

The average grant award is around £300.

Take a Break opens for applications on Tuesday, May 9 and will remain open until Monday, June 26.

Only one application per household or family unit will be accepted. Those for multiple children or young people with complex additional needs are encouraged to include all of them as part of a single application.

Those applying for the first time will be asked to apply some supporting documentation.
