OUTBREAKS of Covid-19 have been confirmed at two Moray care homes.

Staff members at the care homes – which NHS Grampian did not name – have been advised to wear masks in an attempt to control the situation.

The health board said that the wearing of masks would help to "manage the outbreak", although the guidance has only been given to members of staff at present.

"Staff at two care homes in Moray have been advised to resume the wearing of fluid-repellent surgical masks following outbreaks of Covid-19," a spokesperson confirmed.

"This has been risk assessed in line with the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual, and will be one of a number of measures aimed at managing the outbreak."
