THREE friends took themselves to new heights by completing a charity skydive in memory of Forres teenager, Caitlin Dustan.
Caitlin, who was 15-years-old, was regularly supported by the Epilepsy Outreach team at Moray Quarriers before she passed away in May.
Her step-sister Roisin Kinsella and friends Rachel Fraser and Alyson MacKenzie took to the skies to honour Caitlin’s life while fundraising the for health and social care charity.
Alyson said: “Quarriers had a huge impact on Caitlin’s care over the years and we wanted to give something back. We’ve managed to raise quite a bit of money so far which is fantastic for Quarriers and for Caitlin’s family.”
On Saturday August 27, the three friends successfully completed their jump from 10,000 feet at Skydive St Andrews.
Afterwards Alyson said: “What an amazing experience. We absolutely loved it and are happy to have raised so much money for the Moray Epilepsy Outreach Service.”
The money will be welcomed by the Epilepsy Outreach team in Moray.
Norma Crawford, project service manager said: “Caitlin’s family have been part of EO for around 10 years. Caitlin loved planning days out for the children, helping at coffee mornings and making items to raise funds. Raising awareness was very important to her and we will continue her work. Caitlin was a lovely, caring person and we have loved being part of her life. She is sadly missed and will always be in our hearts.
“We are very grateful for the amazing fundraising efforts of Roisin, Rachel and Alyson. Monies raised will be used to continue to support folk living with epilepsy in Moray. We also hope to host an annual event in Caitlin’s name.”
